Learn to Play Volleyball!
WINTER 2022

New to volleyball? Learn to play this great sport with us!

As part of  Volleyball Canada's Long Term Athlete Development Model, new and beginner players start at the FUNdamentals stage. This stage focuses on fun and participation!

Based on your player's grade, choose from one of two developmental programs below designed to introduce skills, build confidence, and get into the game!

Your love for volleyball starts here!

Mini Volleyball
GRADES 1-3

Mini-Volleyball is an approach developed by Volleyball Canada (also known as the Elementary Program) to introduce children to the game of volleyball!

This program uses Volleyball Canada's Mini Volleyball resources and equipment that are developed specifically for tiny hands and bodies! In addition to special equipment, such as lower nets and lighter volleyballs, drills and games are adapted to encourage longer rallies and decrease the difficulty of skill execution!

Learn to Play (LTP) Volleyball is based on Volleyball Canada's Atomic Program (also known as the Community Program).

This program is designed for skill development and to teach our new players the basics of the sport through adapted 4v4 play. Players will use a lighter ball, lower net, and a smaller court to get them ready for the more complex 6 on 6 game when they are older!

Each session players will learn a new element of volleyball and put practice into play!
